With 30 years of experience in the Aged care sector I have extensive experience working with people suffering from Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease. During this time I have provided Diversional Therapy programs in residential settings.
For the past twenty years I have worked as a Service Coordinator and Case Manager in Community Care. This role included coordinating services for people with disabilities, mental health, frail aged, and the Linkage Program for people living alone at home with early stages of Dementia. Part of my role was supervising field staff and coordinated Low and High Care Packages and more recently Home Care Packages supporting people living at home in the community.
I was honoured to be awarded a Life Membership of the Diversional Therapy Association of WA. I believe that a person’s active engagement within their local community through social activities and interaction with other people is just as important as their physical and emotional needs.
I understand that supporting elderly parents and relatives to maintain their independence at home can put families under considerable emotional, physical and financial stress. I also understand the complex emotional and financial stresses that families endure when their parents or relatives are no longer able to remain at home and require respite or residential care. I am here to help.
My aim is to make the next step in your loved one’s journey a positive move for them...and for you.
